We aim to implement bio-inspired principles through AI and apply them to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Research

Our lab develops AI-driven, bio-inspired platforms that bridge nanomaterials, peptides, and living systems for tissue regeneration and therapeutic applications.

AI-based de novo peptide and protein design

AI-based de novo design

We design peptides and proteins from scratch using structure prediction and generative models. By learning from natural sequences and structures, we create novel biomolecules with tailored functions for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Cascade nanozyme and reactive oxygen species regulation

Cascade nanozyme

We engineer multi-enzyme-mimetic nanoparticles that perform cascaded reactions, including ROS conversion and oxygen generation. These nanozymes modulate the tissue microenvironment, alleviate oxidative stress, and support cell survival in damaged tissues.

Biomimetic functional materials and peptide-based biomaterials

Biomimetic functional materials

We develop self-assembling peptides, peptide-polymer hybrids, and nano-biohybrid materials that mimic extracellular matrix and cellular interfaces. These biomimetic materials provide instructive cues for adhesion, differentiation, and tissue formation.

Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications

Tissue engineering applications

We integrate AI-designed biomolecules, cascade nanozymes, and biomimetic materials into 3D constructs and in vivo models. Our goal is to restore function in damaged tissues and organs through multiscale strategies spanning molecules, cells, and living systems.
